Carnlough Heritage Hub wins Heritage Angel Award

Best Heritage Research, Interpretation or Recording

We’re delighted that The Heritage Hub at Carnlough Town Hall has been awarded a prestigious Heritage Angel award for the fantastic work of the volunteer team. Through their dedication and hard work the exhibition and visitor orientation space that we developed with them, in partnership with Mid & East Antrim Borough Council, has been a great success, encouraging public participation and imaginative, complementary projects.

Completed in February 2018, the interpretive exhibition space showcases the industrial and natural heritage of the Antrim Coast and Glens region, telling a wealth of rich and unique stories. An inviting and, sometimes, surprising space, it was designed to flex to suit its use: at times a highly visual and engaging exhibition experience; at other times a community space, with the interpretations acting as a mere backdrop.

Heritage Angel Awards

The Heritage Angel programme was founded by Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber in 2011 to recognise the commitment, skills and achievements of dedicated groups and individuals who champion, protect and restore local historic buildings, and who preserve their region’s heritage for future generations.
