Scott Eaton

Interpretation Planner

Scott joined the team in 2023, bringing nearly 10 years of research experience.

He is a doctoral scholar with research interests in premodern societies and cultures and their beliefs, particularly the history of religion, supernatural and folklore. Scott strives to capture a heritage site’s unique ‘spirit of place’ and channel this through compelling narrative content.

Beyond the studio

Scott’s love of history and heritage extends beyond the studio. He often investigates historical topics and individuals or volunteers on research projects to keep his palaeography skills fresh. He has published his findings with historical societies and academic presses such as Routledge, Palgrave and Oxford University Press.

Scott also enjoys being creative at home, undertaking new DIY projects or experimenting with new cooking recipes (to varying levels of success).

Dream interpretation project

A dream interpretation project would be the history of tea on the island of Ireland. The humble tea leaf plays a central part of our daily lives but its connections are truly global, ranging from the American Revolution, British Empire and colonialism to the innumerable ways people enjoy tea around the world today. The project would be a great opportunity to showcase our cultural diversity as well as our global, shared histories.
